Savory and hearty dishes. We ordered the beef and vegetable soup and stir fried squid, if you like spicy food these are a must.
The Usual Korean Dishes, Beef Bulgogi, soon du boo spicy tofu soup, and Bimbimbop stone rice bowl
No nonsense kind of a place. We had the buckwheat noodle , fried Mandu and bulgogi. The dishes tasted good but not outstanding. Banchans were lack luster, the server was efficient.
No doubt they swrve besr goat meat soup in Chicago. But lately...the price went up, and was really disappointed with pajun. Charging $17 for this seafoodless pancake? Come on now. How is this pancake appetizer more expensive than goat meat soup? Pancake is literally made with some flour, green onion, onion, pepper, egg and frozen seafood. Cant be more than $2. This is outrageous. I love the soup but man, their appetizer price for what they serve is not good at all.
Family place with fast friendly service and wonderful dinners with banchan.Bandhan. Glad we ventured in! Would eat here again.
Small and quaint mom and pop store. We came in at 1:30, so it was an off hour and the staff was all having their lunch. Felt a little bad, but they were very accommodating and didn’t make us feel out of place. Our server was having her meal but still checked on us periodically to make sure we had enough banchan refills and we felt well taken care of. Hubby and I each had a bowl of goat soup. We usually get something different and share… but their goat dish is their specialty! We didn’t do the bokkeum, which comes in a pan and is cooked on the table. It would’ve been a more fuller, complete meal, with fried rice at the end… but we weren’t overly hungry and I don’t eat rice anymore (keto). Anyway, the soup was right on the money. Very, very good. The banchan was also very good - not overly flavorful, but just enough to be complementary to the meal, which is how it should be, and how we make it at home. Portions are on the smaller side, but I still had leftovers of my dish to take home, despite not having touched the rice bowl. Small portions of banchan is fine, since they’ll keep coming back to refill it for you. I was very pleased with the meal and plan on coming back to try their eel soup, which I’ve been told is also very good.
